The homeowner envisioned an open concept space. Although it was the house that she was raised in, and where she raised three boys of her own, the homeowner felt that her kitchen was small, cramped, and uninviting. Their dream kitchen was a cohesive space with ample storage, large island, better preparation space, and improved lighting. The new design incorporated a functional and cohesive kitchen, a large island, additional storage, and preparation space. Removing the wall separating the kitchen and dining room transformed it into a clean, contemporary, updated space for this modern couple. The windows were eliminated to maximize storage, countertop, and entertainment space. The rich colors of the Historic District Farmhouse Linen 12” x 24” luxury vinyl tile compliment the medium taupe/grey Driftwood maple cabinets. The White Alpes counter tops with an organic shaped island became the focal point in the room and provided ample seating for family and friends. The iridescent subway tile splash blends beautifully with the Driftwood cabinets and the pendant lights providing glamour and sophistication to the space. The final layout transformed a dated nonfunctional space into a dream kitchen ideal for entertaining family and friends.
